One of the most elaborate and expensive forms of lace you can purchase is leavers lace, invented in France. A loom over 100 years old weaves together thousands of separate threads. Yet leaver looms are no longer produced. Therefore, the already existing looms that companies have must be kept in working order.
Hiring new lace makers is quite risky since every stage of this intricate procedure requires an expert. Leavers lace is woven with 12,000 to 15,000 threads on a loom. Leavers lace is both delicate and extremely resistant, although each stitch is completed by a knot.
What is it used for?
This kind of lace is most frequently used in expensive and luxurious underwear. Lace is a gorgeous "openwork" fabric that delicately employs solids and gaps. It is a timeless, feminine fabric that looks stunning in daytime and night time attire.
These laces are exceedingly delicate and frequently have intricate patterns. A type of Leavers lace called "Chantilly" requires threads to be manually "clipped" at the beginning and end of each new lace design since the pattern is interrupted throughout the design and encircled by tulle.
